The TranzCoastal is a day scenic train service operating from Christchurch to Kaikoura (Home of Whale watching and Dolphin swimming) and Picton and V.v, featuring air conditioned carriages with large panoramic windows, airline style reclining seats, Buffet Carriage serving snacks and light meals and mobile phone service.

Note - The TranzCoastal train connects with the 8.45am Interislander sailing from Wellington and the 1.15pm Interislander sailing to Wellington.

The TranzAlpine train is a day scenic train service operating from Christchurch to Arthurs Pass (For the Arthurs Pass National Park) and Greymouth, featuring air conditioned carriages with large panoramic windows, mixture of airline style reclining seats and face to face seating, Buffet Carriage serving snacks and light meals, viewing platform and mobile phone service.

Note - The TranzAlpine train connects with coach/bus services to Fox Glacier, Franz Josef Glacier, Westport and Nelson

The TranzCoastal Connection is a day scenic train service operating from Christchurch to Wellington and v.v, travelling on the TranzCoastal train between Christchurch and Picton and an Interislander ferry between Picton to Wellington. 

Alternatively, you can travel from Wellington to Kaikoura (Home of Whale Watching and Dolphin Swimming) or v.va travelling on an Interislander ferry Wellington to Picton or v.v. and the TranzCoastal train from Picton to Kaikoura or v.v.
