The Routeburn Track traverses wild and scenic mountain country between the Hollyford and Dart valleys at the base on New Zealand's Southern Alps. Since the 1880's the Routeburn Track has proved one of the more accessible and popular journeys into New Zealand's forests and mountains. The Routeburn's passage through a variety of landscapes offers opportunities to learn something of New Zealand's forests, it's alpine flora, unique wildlife, and the land-shaping processes of mountain building and glaciation.

Between the Milford road and he Harris Saddle (1277m) the track lies in Fiordland National Park, and between Harris Saddle and Routeburn Shelter, within Mount Aspiring National Park. Both parks are inside the 2.6 million hectare South-west New Zealand World Heritage Area, a vast wilderness (including Mount Cook and Westland National Parks) recognised for its outstanding natural qualities.

Routeburn Walk offers one, three and six day guided treks, luxury lodges with hot showers and excellent meals, transport from Queenstown to and from the tracks, a group photo, and on the final night a celbration dinner in Queenstown. If required, excellent quality back packs and wet weather gear is loaned free of charge.
