The Blue Moon is situated in a quiet road off the main highway to Takaka and Kaiteriteri and has views to the mountain ranges. There is a high fence surrounding the property giving you privacy and seclusion.

It is a great place to base yourself for exploring the highlights of the area such as Kaiteriteri beach, the Riwaka Source, Marble Mountain, Ngarua Caves on Takaka Hill, vineyards, cafés, restaurants...

Decorated in natural colours with tasteful furnishings The Blue Moon exudes peace and tranquility. Luxuriously spacious with windows letting in lots of sun, the room is light and airy.

There is a king size bed with quality cotton linen, electric blankets for winter visitors, a very comfortable futon sofa (folds down into double bed), large walk-in cupboard, ceiling fan, polished wooden floors, ensuite comprising of sunken bath with overhead shower, kitchen/dining area and a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings or just a romantic, cosy night in.

We can provide transport to most nearby tourist destinations, including Nelson airport pickup/drop off - just ask.

Please note: Smoking is not permitted in the guest room.

Breakfast: Enjoy breakfast al fresco in the garden or in our colourful kitchen:

Continental ~ cereals, fresh fruit salad, with yoghurt or milk, homemade bread, locally made preserves, orange juice, tea or freshly gound coffee.

Cooked ~ traditional style breakfast with free-range eggs cooked to your liking, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns... or perhaps something a little more special, just ask us.

Dinner - by arrangement :

Don't want to eat out? We welcome you to join us for a delicious vegetarian meal accompanied by a glass of wine or two.

If you would like to eat with us please discuss your requirements with us the night before... cost from $10 - $30pp.

BBQ - the gas BBQ is available to guests free of charge.
